So we’re approaching the launch/publication day of The Silent Bluebird. It’s exciting, it’s terrifying, it’s agonizingly slow. The book has been out to reviews for about 6 weeks now and every day I wake up with a sense of trepidation, wondering what new opinion the sun will reveal. And honestly, it’s been quite a ride.
Overall the reviews have been mostly positive so I can’t complain, and while I know the brutal truth that not everyone will love the book, those bad reviews still hit like a bag of bricks. Then I remember the excitement of writing, the cheering voices of my family, and of course my faithful newsletter readers, and pick up the pen (though more likely open up my laptop) and continue pushing forward onto the next project.
That being said, November is National Writing Month, which means it’s a perfect time to get my butt in gear and crank out Book 2 (or at least 50k words of it). Let’s see how that goes.
